All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Norba "Nobie" Day - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal July 8, 1992 Funeral services for Mr. Norba "Nobie" Day, 66, of Delta were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Vicksburg with Rev. Johnny Collins officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Day died July 1 at the Vicksburg Medical Center. He was a native of Plaquemine and a former resident of Vicksburg. He had lived in Delta for 19 years. He was a retired employee of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He was associated for a number of years with the Day Brothers Painting Contractors. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 3, the 40 and 8 and the Louisiana Sheriffs Association. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Mae Day of Delta; one daughter, Anita Smith of Mendenhall, Miss.; two step-daughters, Brenda Gail Lynn of Vicksburg and Sue Hennington of Tallulah; three sons, Walter C. Day Sr. of Edwards, Miss., Thomas A. Day of Jackson, Miss. and Norba "Little Nobie" L. Day of Vicksburg; three stepsons, Lonnie Bullock of Tallulah, Ray "Nubbin" Bullock of Dallas, Tex. and George Bullock of Madrid, Spain; one sister; Viola Rude of Lake St. John; two half-brothers, Thomas Logue of Brandon, Miss. and Otis Logue of New Orleans and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jason Moody, Rusty Price, Louis Nichols, James "Buster" Marsalis, Bill Jennings and George Stephens. Honorary pallbearers were members of American Legion Post No. 3 and Retired Railroad Employees' Coffee Club.
