Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Lulu Catherine Davis, 88, who died at the Madison Parish Hospital Friday after a long illness, were held at the First Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. The Rev. Lucian Conway officiated, assisted by Mr. W. N. Ferguson of Monroe, a minister of the Church of Christ. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis, one of the oldest residents of Tallulah, was a native of La Guardo, Tenn., and had lived here for the past 35 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church and until her health failed was active in the women's organization of the church. She is survived by her husband, James L. Davis; a son, James W. Davis, both of Tallulah; a grand-daughter, Mrs. Joe Milton Clark of Tallulah; three great grand-children and two nieces, Mrs. W. W. Clover of Clarksdale, Miss., and Mrs. C. C. Thornton of Winterville, Miss. Pallbearers were Harry Barrett, M. A. Wroten, A. L. Yerger, Virgil Smith, Harvey Jones, C. E. Goss, Robert E. Brown and Albert Sevier. Honorary pallbearers were C. A. Sparling, Maxwell Yerger, C. E. Spencer, C. E. Walker, Rufus Yerger, L. J. Kathan, Dr. H. S. Provine, Dr. George Martin, Dr. George Street, Dr. Laurance Clark, Paul Gaines, Jack Seldon, A. N. Duke, W. E. Clark, Lucian Furr, J. E. Furr, Jr., and friends of the family.
