Davis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 23, 1962 James L. Davis Dies Tuesday of Heart Attack Funeral services for James L. Davis, 95, who died of a heart attack Tuesday in Greenwell Springs, near Baton Rouge, was held Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Oster R. Daniels, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. He was a native of Silver Springs, Tenn., and had lived in Tallulah for the past 40 years. For 30 years he was manager of the Tallulah Bus Station. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Davis is survived by a son, James W. Davis of Tallulah; a granddaughter, Mrs. Joe Milton Clark; three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews living in Texas. Pallbearers were C. E. Goss, M. A. Wroten, Harry Barrett, Andrew Yerger, A. N. Duke, Phil Grimes, Dr. H. S. Provine and H. J. Jones.
