All rights reserved. ************************************************ Geraldine Baker Dahlhauser - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News-Star, January 26, 2007 TALLULAH - Funeral services for Geraldine Baker Dahlhauser, 81, of Tallulah will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Tallulah, LA, on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 3:30PM. The Rev. Jean Foreman will officiate with the Rev. Ramon Warren assisting. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Dahlhauser was born September 15, 1925 in Plainview, AR, to Fred and Noma Morgan Baker. She died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. She spent her early years in Pointe Coupee Parish but moved to Tallulah in the winter of 1942. She graduated from Tallulah High School in 1944 and attended Northwestern State University for three years. Survivors include her husband, Clement Dahlhauser, four children, John Dahlhauser and wife Amy of Washington; Dianne Owens and beloved son-in-law Lester of Houston; Jim Dahlhauser and wife Holly of Tallulah; Judy D. Franklin of Tallulah; grandchildren Lauren Owens Galle and husband Frank of Fayetteville, AR; Kris Sevier, Kasey Franklin, and Jamie Dahlhauser of Tallulah, Jason Owens and wife Emily of Houston, Joanne Dahlhauser and Carolyn Kling of Washington; and great-grandchildren Scott Snow of Washington and Jason Owens, Jr., of Houston. Geraldine Dahlhauser was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board and as Chairperson of the Council on Ministries. She was past President of United Methodist Women for 4 years, Vice-president for 2 years, and Secretary for 2 years. She was very active in her community and served as President of the Madison Parish Family and Community Education Council for 2 years, President of the Walnut Bayou Family and Community Education Club for 12 years. Mrs. Dahlhauser was also a member of the Madison Parish Historical Society, The National Trust for Historic Preservation and a charter member of the Republican Task Force. She served the Madison Parish School District for 10 years. Mrs. Dahlhauser was a resident of Madison Parish for over 60 years, and had a farming interest. Her hobbies included history, antiques, and travel. Mrs. Dahlhauser lived in Montrose Plantation House and worked to make it the first house in Madison Parish on the National Register of Historic Places, by the United States Department of the Interior. Pallbearers will be Dan Copes, Joe Florice, Vaughn Antley, Lester Owens, Frank Galle, Billy Paulette, James L. Harmon, Jr., and Marshall Sevier. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildern and great grandchildern: Lauren Galle, Carolynn Kling, Kris Sevier, Joanne Dahlhauser, Jason Owens, Kasey Franklin, Jamie Dahlhauser, Scott Snow and Jason Owens, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care Services, especially Sissy Marsh, Candice Collins, Brenda Lee, and Veronica Griffin for their care and support. A special thanks to Dr. L.P. Neumann, Beenes Health Mart, Madison Parish Hospital, and Becky Gunn. Also special thanks to Dr. James Moore, Dr. David Wahl, and Dr. Richard O'Donovan.
