Crandall - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 23, 1915 Col. A. W. Crandall A. W. Crandall, for many years a resident of this parish, prominent in its business, social and political affairs, died at his residence in New Orleans Tuesday, last. Col. Crandall held several offices of importance during his residence in Madison, was a large planter and influential citizen. At one time he was a dominant factor in the politics of this section of the state. He held the office of Register of the state Land office under Governor Blanchard. The Colonel was 69 years of age at the time of his death, and had retired from active life. Col. Crandell left this parish in the eighties, but there are many personal friends who remember his general personality, and who will regret to learn of his death. The remains were buried in New Orleans Wednesday.
