All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Essie Lucille Cox - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 19, 1975 Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Lucille Cox, 64, of Tallulah, were at 2 p.m. ----ay in Willow Bayou Baptist Church with the Rev - W. Elmore officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mrs. Cox died Thursday at her residence after an apparent heart attack. She was a native of Alice, Tex., and had been a Madison Parish resident for 33 years. She was also a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband, Arlie Cox, of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Purvis of Tallulah and Mrs. Eva Dean Willis of Sidney, Neb.; three sons, Armon Cox, Clayton Cox and Gene Cox, all of Tallulah; four sisters, Mrs. Inez Rich of Bradley, Ark., Mrs. Gertrude Bledsoe of Texarkana, Ark., Mrs. Olera Talley of Springhill and Mrs. Macelane Arnold of Mooringsport; two brothers, Arnold Rutledge and Ancil Rutledge, both of Texarkana, Ark.; her father, C. B. Rutledge of Tallulah; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren Pallbearers were Winfred Parker, Sanford Parker, Charlie Purvis, Wayne McKnight, Dan Purvis and Horace Russell.
