All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ John Pate "Mr. John" Corbin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 26, 1984 Services for John Pate "Mr. John" Corbin, 74, were at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Revs. David Lawrence and Glen Alexander officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Corbin died Monday at Madison Parish Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Plumberville, Ark., and a resident of Tallulah for the past 37 years. He was a veteran of World War H. He was a member of Scott-Nicols Voak Post 100 of the American Legion, Post No. 3977 of the Veterans for Foreign Wars of Oak Grove and Oak Grove Masonic Lodge No. 284 F&AM. He was a retired retail merchant and a member of Tallulah First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lydia J. Corbin of Tallulah; a son, William E. Pollard of Tallulah; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Sevier of Midland, Texas; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were JamesAbernathy, Aubrey Greer, Freddie Herlevic, Buck Reeves, Joe Williamson and Charles "B. B." Harmon.
