COLLINS, A CIVIL WAR VET, PASSES TUESDAY Death Comes To Old Soldier After Three Years Of Illness J. H. Collins, 90-year old Confederate veteran and esteemed citizen, died Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock after an illness of three years. Death occurred at Jackson, La., where he had recently been taken because of long illness and infirmities of old age. Captain Collins, as he was known in Tallulah, was a native of Cleveland, and served in the 63rd Tennessee regiment during the Civil war. For many years he was active in the real estate business in Madison parish. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services were held Wednesday from the Presbyterian Church in Tallulah with the Rev. H. N. Alexander conducting. Interment followed in the Silver Cross cemetery. Captain Collins is survived by his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Lavalette Hoke of Oklahoma City.
