Coleman - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe Morning World March 21, 1937 TALLULAH, La., March 20. — (Special) — J. L. Coleman, 51, a resident of Madison parish for the past 13 years, died at his home near Tallulah Friday night after a long illness. He was a native of Tate county, Miss. He had formerly been engaged in the logging business. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church here Sunday afternoon with the Rev. C. Karlo Smith officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross cemetery here. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Sarah Louise, and a sister, Mrs. J. C. McCollough of Memphis, Tenn. From Madison Journal March 26, 1937 J. L. Coleman Dies Saturday; Ill Long Time J. L. Coleman, 51, well-known citizen of Tallulah, died here Saturday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Coleman was a native of Tate County, Mississippi, and had been residing in this parish for the last thirteen years. Prior to his death he had been engaged in the logging business, and had handled several large contracts for mills in this section of the state. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Sarah Louise; a sister, Mrs. J. C. McCullough of Memphis, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. C. Karlos Smith officiating. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery. The pallbearers were Jesse Anderson, J. E. Furr, I. T. Hill, W. H. Harvey, T. H. Gregory, and W. A. Patton.
