Douglas Kevin Cobb, Sr., 53, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007 at home after a valiant battle with liver cancer. Visitation will be 5-8pm today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland and 10 am Wednesday at St. Peter's By the Lake Episcopal Church in Brandon. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday at the church with graveside services at 3:00pm Wednesday at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, LA. MSgt. Cobb served in the US Air Force from June 1972 to April 1974. He joined the Mississippi Air National Guard 172nd Air Wing in April 1974 and served until his death in June 2007. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield and the Iraq Conflict. He was active in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth baseball and softball. An avid fisherman, he loved the outdoors. He was very supportive of his dearly loved grandchildren. He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy Sarah Bradley of Jackson; wife, Lisa Cobb of Ridgeland; daughters, Alecia Wasson and husband, Perry of Brandon and Pamela Cobb and fiancé, Josh Martin of Richland; son, Douglas Kevin Cobb, Jr., and wife, Stacy of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Jace, Ashleigh, Brennon, Abigail, and Jack; sister, Rebecca Wilkerson and husband, Terry of Jackson; mother and father-in–law, Charles and Lucy Davis of Pontotoc; and best friends, Gerald and Melanie Thornhill. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Bobby Graham and Odyssey Healthcare and their special staff members at both facilities for their loving and professional care.
