All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Merlin Bannerman Christian - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 26, 1995 Services for Merlin Bannerman Christian were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Bob Christian and the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial was at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Stanley, La., with Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah in charge. Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Christian died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe, La. He was 63. Mr. Christian was born in Mansfield, La., and was a former resident of Tallulah. He had been a resident of St. Joseph, La., for the past 12 years. He was a graduate of Tallulah High School and Louisiana State University. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris Ragland Christian of St. Joseph; two sons, David Christian of Texarkana, Texas, and Mark Christian of Prairieville, La.; one daughter, Ruth Christian Myers of St. Amant, La.; eight grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Moss B. and Velma Christian of Tallulah; two brothers, William "Bill" Christian of Lafayette, La., and John Mark Christian of Tallulah. Pallbearers will be Jason Christian, Bryan Christian, Denny Babin, John Moss Christian, Darren Ragland and Dennis Ragland.
