All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Moss Bannerman Christian - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 13, 1995 Moss Bannerman Christian died Friday, Sept. 8, 1995, at his home in Tallulah. He was 84. Mr. Christian was born in Mansfield and had lived in Tallulah for 57 years. He was the director of research for Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. and president of Forest Products Society for several years. He also owned Christian Pest Control Co. He also was a Bible teacher and deacon at First Baptist Church of Tallulah for more than 50 years. He was a lifelong member of the Rotary Club. Mr. Christian received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern State College and a master's degree from Louisiana State University. Survivors include his wife, Velma Christian of Tallulah; two sons, Bill Christian of Lafayette and John Christian of Tallulah; one stepson, Charles Moore of Delhi; two stepdaughters, Maxine Mocksfield of Temple, Texas, and Polly Christian of Tallulah; one brother, Garland Christian of Shreveport; one sister; Vera Mae Spillyard of Stanley; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Graveside services were at 3:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet near Stanley. Visitation was from 5 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Bible Class at First Baptist Church.
