All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Faye Owens Childers Madison Parish, LA From Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Jasper, TX September 28, 2019 A celebration of Faye Owens Childers life, age 81 of Jasper, will be 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow with Eastern Star Rites at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00 Noon at the church. Faye died September 28, 2019 at Rayburn Health Care in Jasper. Born in Mississippi and a former resident of Tallulah, Louisiana, she was a longtime Jasper area resident. A graduate of Tallulah High School, she married her high school sweetheart J. W. Owens who died in September of 2000. In November 2006 she married W. G. "Bill" Childers, Jr. who died September of 2012. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Jasper Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Sweet and hospitable, she enjoyed the LSU Tigers, playing cards, and visiting with friends. She enjoyed the companionship of many pets most recently Snowball. Faye is survived by two nieces, Susan McElwee of Frankfort Kentucky and Candy Jones of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a nephew, Danny Rusk of Frankfort, Kentucky; and also survived by a host of other family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. & Vera Kirk; her husbands, J. W. Owens & W. G. "Bill" Childers, Jr.; a sister Betty Rusk; a brother, Jimmy Kirk; and a nephew, Mike Rusk. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3196 US Hwy 190 West, Jasper, TX 75951. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
