Charon - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 16, 1991 Funeral services for Mr. Joseph H. Charon, 77, of Baton Rouge, were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Father Silvin Waterkotte officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers. Mr. Charon died Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge after a long illness. Mr. Charon was a native of Ohio, a former resident of Tallulah dad bad been a resident of Baton Rouge for several years. He was a pipeline contractor, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Catholic Church and a former Delhi businessman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Berniece C. Charon of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Ellen McAulay of Tulsa, Okla. and Mary Towner of Oceanside, Calif.; three brothers, Jack Charon of Tulsa, Bill Charon of Fayetteville, Ark. and Frank Charon of Houston, Texas.
