Chapman - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 12, 1929 Friends of Mr. Hollis W. Chapman will regret to learn of his death which occurred in Vicksburg Saturday. He was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis and rushed to Vicksburg. He was operated on, but death came within a few minutes. Mr. Chapman came to Tallulah several years ago from xxxxx and at first operated a meat market for Piggly Wiggly. Later he opened a grocery and market business in the Scurria Building near the depot where he was located at the time of his death. The funeral took place from the Baptist Church and interment was in the Tallulah Cemetery.
