M. at the Tallulah Church of Christ for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Carter, 73, of Sondheimer. Mrs. Carter died last Saturday in a Lake Providence nursing home after a long illness. Services were conducted by Bro. Hayhurst. Burial was held at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Cupit-Young Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter had resided in Louisiana for the past 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. E. V. Parker and Mrs. J. F. Parker, both of Sondheimer, Mrs. Delos Hamock, Lake Providence, and Mrs. W. F. Dixon, Delhi; a son, Walter Carter, Natchez, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. W. D. Rabb, Tallulah, Mrs. Florence Anderson, Transylvania, and Mrs. Mamie Vines, Natchez; Miss.; two brothers, Webb Whitehead, Natchez, Miss., and Doug Whitehead, Woodville, Miss.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Oakes, Cliff Erwin, Ray Fortenberry, Troy Dukes, L. A. George, Ralph ???? and others.
