Bruce Carter - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 15, 1976 Funeral services for R. Bruce Carter were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was at Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Carter, 68, of Tallulah died last night in the Madison Parish after a brief illness. A native of Mississippi, Carter lived in Tallulah for the past 58 years. Before retirement, he was employed by the Louisiana Department of Highways. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Velma Carter of Tallulah; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Bond of Biloxi, Miss.; one brother, Davis Carter of Mound; one sister, Miss Helen Carter of Tallulah; four grandchildren and two nephews. Pallbearers were John Christian, Billy Carter, Truman Collins, Gerald Collins, Donald Collins, David Collins, Ralph Collins and Dalton Fortenberry.
