Carter - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 24, 1980 Funeral services for Charlie C. Carter, were Sunday in First Baptist with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Carter died Friday in Delta Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a native of Point and a resident of Tallulah for 44 years, a retired employee of Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. and a member of First Baptist Church Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allie Mae Carter of Tallulah; two sons, Staff Sgt. Troyce Carter of Delhi and Carl "Cotton" Carter of Pea Ridge, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Watzje of New Orleans; a brother, Mr. Guy Carter of Tallulah; three sisters, Mrs. Laverne Nezat and Mrs. Corin Presley, both of Delhi and Mrs. Susie Brownell of Monroe; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Williams, Jessie Williams, Jerry Coburn, Joel Kessler, Eursel Carter and Gary Carter.
