Carter died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe, La. She was 73. Born in Monticello, La., Mrs. Carter had lived in Madison Parish since 1969 and was a housewife. Survivors include her husband, Miles H. Carter of Tallulah; a son, Billy Mitchell Jr. of Newellton; two daughters, Margaret Richardson of Tallulah and Cheryl Simpson of St. Joseph; a brother, Ed Lake of Mobile, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. Sunday until the service. Pallbearers will be Mac Cagnolatti, David Cagnolatti, Dale Cagnolatti, Mike Magee, Bobby Todd and Jackie Varner.
