Carney - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 28, 1984 Services for Howard E. Carney, 76, will be at 2 p.m. today at Tallulah First Baptist Church with the Revs. Crawford Williams and Dan St. Andre officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Carney died Wednesday at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a long illness. Mr. Carney was a Mississippi native, but had lived in Tallulah for 57 years. He was a retired farmer and saw filer for Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. He was a member of Tallulah Masonic Lodge No. 308 and Tallulah First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Howard Carney Jr. of Tallulah; two daughters, Clara Ervin and Ethel Dowe, both of Tallulah; a sister, Myrtle Caldwell of Jackson, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
