Cantrell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 3, 1950 Funeral Services For W. R. Cantrell Held Here Jan. 26th W. R. Cantrell, 56-year-old carpenter of Transylvania, died Monday, January 23rd at a Monroe hospital after being confined to bed five weeks. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26th from the home of his wife's daughter, Mrs. A. B. Foster of Tallulah, with the Rev. Shirley Briggs officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Walters Funeral Home of Lake Providence, in Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Gunn, Vardaman Panquin, J. M. Trechell, Buddy Friday, Floyd Spells, of Tallulah, and D. D. Seymour of Transylvania. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Clements, Jesse L. Clements of Transylvania, and Robert Spells of Tallulah. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bentley Taylor, Transylvania; Miss Estra Cantrel and Mrs. Hosey Welcher, both of Oceanside, Calif., also several step-children.
