He was born on December 04, 1957 in Delhi, LA. He spent most of his life in Campbell Swamp. Donald was a lumber inspector by trade. He started playing drums when he was 5 years old. He played professionally by age 7 with numerous bands. Music and playing drums was his passion. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius James Byrd and Mary Ernestine Johnson Pruett; brother, James Earl Byrd. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Byrd; sons, Justin Bryd, James Byrd and Marty McDougal; daughter, Jessica Blaine Bryd; stepdad, Randy Pruett; brother, Sammie Byrd; sisters, Ruby Weelborg and Cheryl Reed; grandchildren, Adrian Matinez "Toot Toot", Hayden McDougal, Hunter McDougal, Ethan Byrd, Brantley Bam McDougal, Jon'h McCalpin, Braylee McDougal, Addison Byrd; great-grandchild, Ji'Anna Ezra Lavin. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Glenwood Funeral Home. Bro. Ronnie Garrett will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, LA. Pallbearers will be Huner McDougal, Hayden McDougal, Bo Gayle, Kenny Martin, Burton Hynum, Kenny Gurley, Gabe Young, Fabian Mullins.
