(Dick) Byrd - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 4, 1963 Charles H. Byrd Funeral Rites Held Wednesday Charles H. (Dick) Byrd, 29, died Tuesday morning at his home here after a long illness. A native of Delhi and at one time a member of both the fire and police department. Mr. Byrd was a member of the Baptist Church. Services were held Wednesday at 3:30 p. m. in the First Baptist e Church with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating assisted by the Rev. Oster R. Daniels. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Cupit-Young Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Evelyn J. Byrd; two daughters, Ronda Sue and Wanda Lou; a son, Sammie L. Byrd, all of Tallulah; his father, I. C. Byrd, Delhi; three brothers, Bennie and Melvin Byrd, both of Tallulah, and Jimmy Byrd of Newellton; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Byrd, Delhi, and Mr. and Mrs. Huey Bryant, Monroe. Pallbearers and honorary pall-bearers were members of the Tallulah Police Department.
