All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William "Billy" Burris - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 27, 1981 Services for William "Billy" Burris were at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Revs. Xxxxson and D. T. Williams officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Burris died Thursday in Mercy Medical Center in Vicksburg, Miss., of injuries received in an accident on July 26. He was a native of Arkansas and a resident of Tallulah for 20 years. He was a graduate of the Louisiana State School for the Deaf and Tallulah Vo-Tech School. He was a welder at Pnu-Tank of Tallulah. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Burris Sr. ; a brother, James C. Burris Jr. of Tallulah; six sisters, Mrs. Lou Williams of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Earl Melugin, of Gurdon, Ark., Mrs. Dennis Post of Vicksburg and Mrs.. James R. Matthews, Mrs. A. J. Whitley and Mrs. Larry Ghrigsby all of Tallulah; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bearden of Tallulah and 19 nieces and nephews.
