All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** James Clarence Burris Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 11, 1998 Funeral services for Mr. James Clarence Burris Sr., age 83, of Tallulah, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Burris died Friday, March 6, 1998, at his home in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. Mr. Burris was a retired machine operator who had lived in Tallulah for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a son, William Otis (Billy) Burris. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Burris of Tallulah; six daughters: Rose Williams of Wewoka, Okla., Ruby Melugin of Gurdon, Ark., Bobbi Post of St. Paul, Minn., Wanda Whitley, Lorene Mathews and Jewel Ghrigsby, all of Tallulah; one son, James Clarence (Jim) Burris II of Tendal; one brother, Y. Z. Burris of Malvern, Ark.; one sister, Imogene Smart of Benton, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Whitley, Roger Melugin, Mark Mathews, Steven Whitley, Sam Westmoreland and Earl Melugin. Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
