All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Georgie Buckner - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home November 6, 2017 Georgie Buckner passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at the age of 54, at Olive Branch Senior Home in Tallulah, Louisiana, after a long illness with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Born in Tallulah on January 6, 1963, she was the fifth child of Louis and Betty (Nadler) Buckner who both died in 2002. Before returning to Tallulah in January, she lived in Carrollton, Texas, and worked as a Senior Accountant in Dallas, Texas. Miss Buckner will be greatly missed by her siblings (and spouses): Harry (and Julie) Buckner, Beth Buckner (and Mark) Shelton, Janie Buckner (and Kent) Fabre, Ellis (and Cindy) Buckner, and Louis Buckner (and Billie Jean Morgan). She loved her nieces and nephews: Ben Buckner, Miriam Buckner, Melinda Buckner, Anna Shelton Harris, Josiah Fabre, Simeon Fabre, Zadok Fabre, Moriah Fabre Simmons, Marjorie Buckner, and Sallie Buckner, and paternal uncle, William Ellis Buckner, and paternal aunt, Ruth Vicknair Buckner. Having graduated salutatorian in 1981 from Tallulah High School, Georgie Buckner attended Louisiana Tech University, and received her Bachelor of Accounting from The University of Phoenix. She moved to the Dallas area in 1999, and worked for 17 years as an accountant. Georgie was a devout Christian, and was dedicated to prayer and the support of Christian ministry. Sewing, crocheting, cooking, and writing were her favorite creative talents. In her quest for adventure, she hiked the Grand Canyon from North Rim to river and back, which led her to become an avid hiker, logging 18 highpoint peaks in the U.S. Georgie Buckner will be laid to rest in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Pastor Kent Fabre will officiate the service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home, 2 Crothers Drive, Tallulah, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. The family is grateful for the wonderful nurses and staff at Olive Branch Senior Care in Tallulah and to Dr. L.P. Neumann: your expertise, compassion, and professionalism are outstanding.
