Browne Madison Parish, LA From The Madison Journal, June 29, 1929 ALONZO L. BROWNE News of the death of Mr. Alonzo L. Browne, popular Buick salesman in this district, was distressingly received by the entire community. He was the son of the late Dr. F. A. Browne and Mrs. Annie Groves Browne, of Monroe and is survived by his devoted mother and a brother, Mr. Groves Browne also of Monroe. He was born in Abeline, Texas thirty-nine years ago and was educated at Jefferson Military Academy near Natchez and Tulane University. He made his home in Vicksburg for some time, moving to Tallulah about a year ago, where he had already acquired many friends. His lingering illness had been a source of distress to these friends for many months. He died Saturday morning, June 22 at St. Francis Sanitarium of Monroe and was buried at the City Cemetery Sunday by Rev. Hayward with Masonic honors, amid a bower of floral offerings and many sorrowing friends. Sympathy is especially extended by the residents of the Parish to Mrs. Browne, who spent her girlhood here as Miss Annie Groves and who endeared herself to her friends.
