M. BROOKS Funeral services for Miss Erexine Mary Brooks, 67, who died at the Tallulah Clinic Sunday night after a lingering illness were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. D. Ziegler, with the Rev. D. W. Poole, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Miss Brooks native of the Brooklyn plantation, east of Vicksburg, Miss., and former teacher in schools of this parish, has been a resident here for many years. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. W. D. Ziegler, four nieces, Mrs. W. E. Regenold, Mrs. Richard Almond, Mrs. Aura P. Frierson, and Miss Lily Purnell, and one nephew, William W. Ziegler. From Vicksburg Evening Post, November 18, 1940 FORMER SCHOOL TEACHER DIES IN TALLULAH TALLULAH. La., Nov. 18-Miss Erexine Mary Brooks, 67, former Schoolteacher of Madison parish died in the Tallulah clinic last night after a long illness. Miss Brooks was born on the Brookland plantation on the Jackson-Vicksburg highway. Funeral services will be held here at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. D. Ziegler, Tuesday, at 10 a. m. with the Rev. D. W. Poole, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in the Silver Cross cemetery.
