Don Ray “Sonny” Broadway, age 78, of Oak Grove, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, while doing what he loved, hunting and being outdoors. Sonny was born on February 1, 1942 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Kayley and Ida Broadway. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1961.

Sonny and Barbara began their journey of life together on April 21, 1961 and started their family in 1967 with little Donald Ricky, who is now with Sonny, followed by Susan in 1968, LaShella 1973 and Kayla 1976, who met Sonny again to start their new journey of eternal life. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Cameron Dalton, Brielle Johnson, Ethan Dalton and Watkins Fyfe.

Sonny was an avid hunter and jack of all trades. The man could do absolutely everything. He was a devout Christian and a member of Oak Grove Church of God.
Sonny worked as an engineer with Perilli Cable Corporation, which involved laying underground and underwater cable for prominent companies of which lead him to various worldwide travels.

Sonny is preceded in death by his daughter, Kayla Broadway Johnson; parents, Kayley Broadway and Ida Henderson Broadway; three sisters, Pat Tuminello, Jackie Levitz, and Tiki Shivers; three brothers, Billy Broadway, Bobby Broadway, and Sam Broadway.

Sonny is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, LaShella and Chad Dalton of Clarksdale, Mississippi; daughter, Susan B. Fyfe of Clarksdale, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Cameron Dalton, Ethan Dalton, Watkins Fyfe, Brielle Johnson; sister, Gerri Brown of Oak Grove, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Maxine Broadway of Oak Grove, Louisiana; brother, Mitchell Broadway of Southhaven, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 22, 2021, at 2:00PM, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, Louisiana with Rev. Jonathan Williams officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 12PM – 1:30PM at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Dalton, Ethan Dalton, Chad Dalton, David Carr, Joe Broadway Jr., Neal Kelly.
