Broaddus - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 23, 1915 After a protracted illness Mr. Thomas P. Broaddus died at Vicksburg Wednesday morning. Mr. Broaddus has been in failing health for several years and nothing less than indomoitable [sic indomitable] will could have prolonged his life. Mr. Broaddus was born in Kentucky 63 years ago, but has resided in this parish for many years - every year of which for many years - every year of which has added to his popularity in his adopted state. It may well be said of him that he was the friend of every resident of the parish and that every resident of the parish was his friend. Warm hearted and genial he typified the southern gentleman, who once known is not be be forgotten. Mr. Broaddus has spent an active life and has been prominent in the business affairs of the parish. He has held many positions of trust in the parish, and at the time of his death was Parish Treasurer. He left a wife, one sister and two brothers, who have the sympathy of a large circle of friends. The remains were buried at the Tallulah Cemetery, Reverend Mr. Skipper officiating.
