Brekeen - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 6, 1959 Services Held Tuesday For J. I. Brekeen Funeral services for James I. Brekeen of Mound, who died Monday morning in a Monroe hospital after several months illness, were held at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday morning. The Rev. D. Smith officiated with burial following in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Brekeen was born in Tennessee and had lived for many years in Louisiana. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lonia Brekeen; five sons, John Brekeen, McComb, Miss., Q. C. Brekeen, New Orleans, Willard and Charlie Brekeen of Tallulah, Bilbo Brekeen, Bilbo Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Wilkens and Mrs. Myrtle Page of Houston, and Mrs. Sarah Snyder, Columbus, Ga., a brother, Bill Brekeen, Greensburg; 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ellis Davis, John Scott, Jr., Ed Dean, C. H. Hodge, Herman Ivy and Virgil Xxxx.
