Bray - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post June 16, 1947 BRAY SERVICES SCHEDULED TODAY Tragic Drowning Late Saturday at Bear Lake TALLULAH, La., June 16 -- Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4:30 for Arthur G. Bray, thirty-year-old young resident of Tallulah who drowned late Saturday when his boat overturned on Bear Lake. The services will be held at the home of his mother, Mrs. A. G. Bray with the Rev. Dean Maurer, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Sevier, Buck Sevier, Tobe Jordan, Emmett Craig, Bo Gandy, John Sevier and W. F. Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be the vestry of Trinity Church. Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bray was a teller in the Tallulah Bank and Trust Company. He was a veteran of the air corps, with an outstanding record for service in the European theater. His wife, two small children, his mother and three brothers survive. Submitted by Arthur G. Bray, III December 18, 2010 Resolution Of Respect For Arthur G. Bray At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tallulah State Bank, the following resolution was offered by Mr. W. R. Gilfoil, and unanimously adapted: "The Board of Directors of the Tallulah State Bank in their first meeting assembled after the untimely death of the Assistant Cashier, Arthur (Buddy) Bray, wish to join in the deep regret felt by the entire personnel of this bank which he has served so well, together with its patrons, the friends and relatives of this sterling young man. "Not only do we sympathize with the wife and babies, his mother ,and brothers, but we feel a deep sense of loss for the community the served always willingly and well, as a soldier in the salvation of his country and her ideals, and as a citizen and ever smiling servitor to the needs of his homeland. "Farewell to thee, Buddy Bray, farewell,Though short your span of life. Your part you always acted well: At home, at work, in strife. So, among God's faithful,dwell."
