Bowles - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 25, 1989 Funeral services for Mr. James A. Bowles, 75, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Burial followed in the Lake Providence City Cemetery. Mr. Bowles died Saturday in the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Houston, Miss. and a resident of Madison Parish for 45 years. He was a farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Scott-Nicols-Voak American Legion Post No. 100. Survivors include three sisters, Virginia Carter of Memphis, Tenn., Francis Blackledge of Montgomery, Ala. and Susan Bowles of Shreveport; three nephews and three nieces. Pallbearers were Joe Reynolds Jr., Gary Parker, James Stroud, Luther Bishop, Arthur Skeldon and James R. Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Winston, A.L. Gordy, Bob Gaumnitz, Richard Duncan and members of the American Legion Post No. 100.
