All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Ethel Bowles - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 20, 1983 Services for Mrs. Ethel Bowles, 71, were at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rupert Coles officiating. Burial was in Lake Providence City Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowles died Jan. 12 in Jackson, Miss., after a short illness. She was a native of Arkadelphia, Ark. and a resident of Tallulah for 40 years. She was a retired beauty operator and a World War II veteran. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, James A. Bowles of Tallulah and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Reynolds, A. L. Gordy, Harry Barrett, Calvin Sawyer, W. B. Williams Jr. and Robert Gaumnitz.
