Bowen - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe Morning World February 14, 1943 TALLULAH, La., Feb. 13 — (Special) — Garthie R. Bowen, 24, Tallulah service station operator, died here today after a lengthy illness. Mr. Bowen had been in business here five months and had previously lived at A__ for the past ten years. Mr. Bowen is survived by his wife and 7-weeks-old son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Bowen, a sister, Dorothy Bowen, and four brothers, Gerlick, Aaron, Revel and Archie Bowen. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church here with the Rev. Clarence Crow officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Cross cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be J. W. Odom, C. B. Thompson, Harry Murray, Basil Wooten and two brothers, Gerlick and Aaron Bowen.
