Booth, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 28, 2004 A memorial service for Glenn H. Booth, Sr., 85, of Nashville, Tn., was Oct. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville with Rev. Sandra Randleman officiating. West Harpeth Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Booth was a native of Nashville and attended Sylvan Xxrk, Cohn Junior High and Xxume Fogg High School. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1940 and retired from Southern Bell after 37 years as an engineer. He later served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterworks Division for eight years. Mr. Booth retired in Tallulah before returning to Nashville to reside at The Saint Paul Senior Living Community following health concerns. He was involved with the Civitan Club in Nashville and the Xxrch Club, and was past president of the Tennessee chapter of Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Booth was a deacon of Trinity Presbyterian Church. In the 22 years he lived in Tallulah, Mr. Booth served with the Madison Parish Port Commission, was president of the Madison Historical Society and attended Tallulah Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technical Sergeant in the 79th Military Government, Siatama Prefecture, Japan. He loved the outdoors, wily and he befriended everyone he met. Mr. Booth was a storyteller and writer of family history events. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Briley Booth. Mr. Booth is survived by his wife of more than 63 years, Margaret Folk Booth, of Nashville; sons, Glenn H. (Marylee) Booth, Jr., M.D., Ph.D, Nashville, and Robert Folk (Elizabeth) Booth, of Snellville; daughter, Margaret Roberta Xxeper, of Grayson, Ga.; sister, Claire (Steve) Neely, of Nashville, brothers, Merill Eugene (Ann) Booth, of Nashville; and Burton Hall (Xxilsye) Booth, of Nashville; daughters, Mary Campbell Booth (Griz) Dwight of Washington, D.C., Cecilia (David) Stinnett, of Knoxville, and Lynne Magee, of Knoxville, and Virginia Margaret Xxeper, of Ashland, Va.; grandsons, Jamie Robert Booth, Norcross, Ga., and Theron Earl Xxper III, of Athens. Ga.; great-granddaughter, Madeline Grace Stinnett, of Knoxville; and great-grandson, Joshua Seth Stinnett of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN., 37220, or to a charity.
