BLANCHE DIES AT TALLULAH TALLULAH, La., March 5-George Sterling Blanche, 66, one of the most highly esteemed citizens of Madison parish and a planter and merchant of Quebec, died at his home Sunday night after a month's illness. He was a native of Tensas parish but had been a resident of Madison parish for many years. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. Funeral services were conducted from the family home here Monday afternoon with interment following in Silver Cross Cemetery here. Rev. C. K. Smith conducted the last rites. Mr. Blanche is survived by his widow Mrs. Annie Guthrie Blanche, two sons, Alex, of Tendal and Edwin, of Newellton and four grandchildren. Two brothers, Alex Blanche, of Quebec, and John Blanche of St. Joseph also survive. The pall bearers were S. B. Bettis, A. J. Sevier, C. E. Wixson, Jesse Anderson, P. O. Benjamin and C. E. Speed. From Madison Journal March 8, 1935 GEORGE S. BLANCHE Funeral services for George S. Blanche, 66, Quebec merchant and well-known citizen, who died at his home Sunday night following several weeks illness, were held from the family home Monday afternoon. Interment was in Silver Cross cemetery. Rev. C. Karlos Smith, Methodist pastor, officiated. On January 8, 180(sic), Mr. Blanche was married to Miss Annie Guthrie of Tensas parish. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Alex of Tendal, Edwin of Newellton; a daughter, Mrs. C. B. McKinney of Gibsland; four grandchildren and two brothers, Alex Blanche of Quebec and John Blanche of St. Joseph.
