Bishop died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center. He was 87. Born in Ringgold, La., Mr. Bishop had lived in Tallulah since 1936. He retired as bulk plant manager for Yerger Oil Co. after 53 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah. He is survived by his wife, Verna Mae Goss Bishop of Tallulah; two sons, Malcolm R. Bishop and Thomas W. Bishop, both of Tallulah; a brother, Luther Bishop of Tallulah; two sisters, Nettie Lou Kyte of Tyler, Texas, and Alsa Cheatwood of Crowville, La.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Johnny Goss, John Neill, Gary Arneson, Bobby Arneson, Henry Bishop and Allen Bishop.
