Mr. Bettis had been in ill health for the past several years and had visited many health resorts and was ministered to by his family, only to succumb at last to the call of the Creator. The deceased was 66 years of age at the time of his death and was a native of Madison Parish since childhood. He leaves to mourn his death three brothers, Messers, G. O., J. C. and S. B. Bettis, all of Tallulah, La., and one sister, Mrs. Ellis of Vicksburg, Miss., to whom the Journal extends its condolences in the loss of their brother.
