Bethea - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 2, 1984 Jack W. Bethea, 74, died at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Miss. after a short illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Bethea was a native and longtime resident of Tallulah. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Scott-Nichols-Voak Post 100 of the American Legion, The Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church of Tallulah. He worked as a painting contractor. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estes Bethea of Tallulah; a son, Jack E. Bethea of Tallulah; three brothers, James Bethea of Denham Springs, Robert Bethea of Cordoba, Ala., and Alfred Bethea of West Monroe; three sisters, Emily Green of Starkville, Miss., Regina Allen of Marion, Texas, and Clarmon Abbott of Los Angeles.
