Bennett - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 22, 1961 Services for W. P. Bennett Held on Friday Funeral services for Willie P. Bennett, 74, who died last week in a Monroe Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. last Friday in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Terrell Donaldson, pastor of the Tallulah Pentecostal Church officiated. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers Funeral Home in Charge. A native of Arkansas, Mr. Bennett had lived for 25 years in Madison Parish, where he was a farmer until failing health forced his retirement. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucy Bennett; three sons, Clyde Bennett, Newellton, Lamond Bennett, Tallulah and Doyle Bennett of Waverly; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Ramsey, Tallulah. and Mrs. Lois Benton, Donaldsville, Miss.; brother, L. L. Bennett, Bakersville, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Beadle Terrell, Tallulah; 35 grandchildren and 50 greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Houston Ramsey, Floyd Decker, Decatur Freeman, Hilton Freeman, Calvin Ray Bennett, and J. D. Ramsey.
