Bennett - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 23, 1984 Services for James E. Bennett were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Alton Xxxxxxx officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Bennett died Monday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, Miss., after a long illness. Mr. Bennett was a native and lifelong resident of Tallulah. He was a veteran of the Navy in World War II and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lula Mae Johnson of Tallulah; his stepfather, William Johnson of Tallulah; and a brother, Donald W. Bennett of Lake Charles. Pallbearers were Richard Marshall, Ross Murphy, J. P. Leonard, Freddy Kennedy, Troy Kennedy and J. E. Hopkins.
