All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ James Elmer Bennett - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 3, 1975 Funeral services for James Elmer Bennett were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Shields officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Bennett died early Saturday in the Vicksburg following an illness. He was a native of Rayville and a resident of Tallulah for 50 years. Before his retirement Mr. Bennett owned and operated the Two-Mile Inn Grocery near Tallulah. He was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Lula Mae Bennett of Tallulah; two sons, Elmer Bennett of Tallulah, Donald Wayne Bennett of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Allen of Tallulah; and two grandchildren.
