Bennett, 56, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, from St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Scott Desormeaux will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6 p.m., and from 8-9:30 a.m. Monday. Mr. Bennett died at 8:13 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, in a local hospital. A native of Tallulah, he had lived in Lake Charles for 30 years. He attended Northwestern Louisiana University, where he played football and pole-vaulted. A marathon runner, he ran in the Boston, Houston, and Dallas White Rock marathons and was a member of the Lake Area Runners Club. He worked for Olin Corporation for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Antonia Cormier Bennett; three daughters, Stephanie Barrett, Scarlett Hebert and Shalon Bennett, all of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren.
