He was a resident of Baton Rouge, a native of Tallulah and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, April 20, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. John Goodwin. Entombment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by his daughter-in-law, Susan Muller Sevario of Greenwell Springs; sister, Elizabeth Guthrie Benjamin of Hattiesburg, Miss.; three stepgrandchildren, Laurie Venable, Drew Sevario and Becky Toler; seven stepgreat-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Barnes Benjamin; daughter, Laurie Leigh Benjamin; stepson, William P. Sevario; parents, Percy O. Benjamin and Sadie Guthrie Benjamin; two brothers, 2nd Lt. Percy O. Benjamin Jr. and Lt. William P. Benjamin; and two sisters, Shirley Cockran and Cecilia Ann Moore.
