Beard - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 16, 1996 Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth D. Beard, age 64, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 1996, at the Melbourne Baptist Church near Transylvania, Louisiana. Rev. James Hayes and Rev. Bob Gilliland will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Beard died Monday, October 14, 1996, in Rayville Guest House after a lengthy illness. She was born in Forest, Louisiana, and had lived in Tallulah for many years. She had lived in East Carroll Parish for the past 24 years. She was a member and secretary of Transylvania Baptist Church. Survivors include: one son, Tommy Beard of Transylvania, Louisiana; one brother, Troyce Dukes of Lake Providence, Louisiana; one sister, Lilla Brackin of Lake Providence; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are: Wayne King, Jerry King, Ronnie King, A. J. Bradley, Mike Bradley, and Kiley King.
