All rights reserved. ************************************************ Johnnie Douglas Beard Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, April 30, 2004 TALLULAH — Services for Johnnie Douglas Beard Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Shields officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery near Delhi. Visitation will be all day Saturday until the service at the funeral home. Mr. Beard died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at his home. He was 59. A resident of Tallulah, he was a diesel and farm mechanic and a member of the Royal Order of Moose. Survivors include his wife, Danielle Matthews Beard of Tallulah; a son, Johnnie Douglas Beard III of Tallulah; two daughters, Amanda Sue Meadows of Vicksburg and Jeannie Bohn of Pennsylvania; his mother, Frances Beard of Vicksburg; three brothers, the Rev. Frank Shields of Downsville, La., and Elmer Sidney Preston and Delmer Bell Preston, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Johnnie D. Beard III, Kinney Heard, Jonathan Meadows, Nathaniel Matthews, Sam Whitaker and Johnnie Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Sheppard and Buddy Heard.
