Beard - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 1, 1990 Funeral services for Mr. Herbert S. Beard, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duewayne Tullos officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Beard died Wednesday, July 25 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was born in Wesson and had lived in Madison Parish for 55 years. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways and was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Ruby McCarty Beard of Tallulah; one son, Roy Lynn Beard of Tallulah; one daughter, Lorrie Ann Beard of Tallulah; three sisters, Nettie Mae Olson of Tallulah, Ellen White and Cordie Mae Smith, both of Houston, Tex.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Walter McCarty, Mack McCarty, Danny Beard, Gene Watkins, Ross Murphy and Harold Bolton.
