All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Vernice Culbertson Batchelor - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 21, 2000 Funeral services for Mrs. Vernice Culbertson Batchelor, age 83, of Tallulah, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 5, 2000, In the First United Methodist Church in Tallulah with Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m. in Holley Springs Cemetery in Coushatta, La., under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mrs. Batchelor died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. She was born In Kansas and lived in Madison Parish since 1954. Mrs. Batchelor was a homemaker, a member and honorary Board member of the First United Methodist Church of Tallulah, and a member of the Crepe Myrtle Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include: two sons: Bert Thomas Batchelor of Tallulah, and Fredrick Neal Batchelor of Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Marilyn Gail Byrd of Tallulah; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman William "Bill" Culbertson of Benton, La.; one sister, Ann Lucille Southern of Shreveport. La. Pallbearers were Fletcher Batchelor, Joshua Cogburn, Edward Toole, Tom Byrd, Clinton Givens, and Tom Byrd, Jr.
