Batchelor - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 27, 1993 Funeral services for Mr. Marshal N. Batchelor, 81, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Scarf officiating. An afternoon service was held at 3 p.m. in Holly Springs Methodist Church in Coushatta with burial at the church cemetery. Mr. Batchelor died Tuesday, Jan. 19 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was born in Red River Parish and had lived in Madison Parish for 39 years. He was an Air Force veteran of World War U and the Korean War. He was a retired farmer and a retired Air Force master sergeant. He was a former post commander and chaplain of the American Legion Post No. 100 and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, Vernice Culbertson Batchelor of Tallulah; two sons, Bert Thomas Batchelor of Tallulah and Fredrick Neal Batchelor of Shreveport; one daughter, Marilyn Gail Byrd of Tallulah; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were John Earl Martin, Bill Post, Charlie Arneson, Joe Hickman, Thomas Bedgood and Clinton Givens.
